As a person, it's always worth reflecting back over the last year, especially when a new one begins. As a photographer who takes photos every day, I've got a bit of a cheat sheet to remembering my day to day life. Looking back, here are my favorite photos from 2013, and some of the stories around making these moments.

The simple, art deco architecture of the Chrysler building among the skyscrapers and offices of the city was captured during the blue hour - that great time of evening when office lights are just turning on but the sky has this really pure light. I took this photo after a check up appointment, on a rare day when I was out of work before the sun set.

The month of February was summarized by one word: Morocco. I took a 9 day road trip with my Dad that spanned the country. I made this particular photo when we first landed in Casablanca. We disembarked from the plane, visited a beautiful mosque, and then entered the city center. I happened to notice this gorgeous "petit" red taxi (a departure from the yellow cabs in New York) with a woman directing the driver where to go.
